Product Description

The Cambridge Soundworks Tower II series of speakers were introduced in the mid-1990s to much acclaim.  Henry Kloss’s legendary designs (and marketing prowess) set the stage for a set of full-range floor-standing speakers to accompany CSW’s already successful genre-bending sub/satellite systems.

Basic design

  • System type: 3‑way, floorstanding, rear‑ported cabinet.
  • Configuration: 1 tweeter, 1 midrange, 2 woofers per speaker.
  • Enclosure: Ported (vented) for the woofers; midrange in its own sealed sub‑enclosure.

Drivers

  • Tweeter: 1‑inch soft‑dome / coated fabric dome tweeter.
  • Midrange: 5¼‑inch polypropylene mid‑bass/midrange driver in a sealed chamber.
  • Woofers: Two 8‑inch polypropylene cone woofers in a vented enclosure.

Electro‑acoustic specs

  • Nominal impedance: 8 ohms per speaker.
  • Recommended amplifier power: Minimum around 100 watts per speaker side (factory recommendation).
  • Sensitivity: About 89 dB (2.83 V / 1 m, 600 Hz–2 kHz).
  • Frequency response (measured): Approximately 49 Hz (‑3 dB) and 39 Hz (‑6 dB) on‑axis.

Connectivity and features

  • Inputs: Dual binding‑post terminals with metal jumpers for single‑wire use.
  • Bi‑amp / bi‑wire: Possible when the jumper straps are removed.
